Agriturismo Case Tabarani

Agriturismo Case Tabarani
Agriturismo Case Tabarani

A hilltop agriturismo above the Imera valley, run by the Cangelosi family, with a panoramic sweep from Monte Pellegrino in Palermo to the high peaks of the Madonie. In the 1800s and into the early 1900s “Le Case Tabarani” were the masseria of a baronial fief, producing cheese from its own herds and olive oil pressed on site — and that historic olive mill survives inside today's restaurant, complete with its presses and the stone grinding wheel carved with the date 1886. Matteo Cangelosi, a former physics teacher, restored the family baglio for guests; Antonella cooks a set km-zero Madonie menu (vegetarian and gluten-free on request) in the old frantoio, booking required. The farm still works — olive grove, cattle and goats moved to mountain pasture in summer — supplying the oil, the provola and even house liqueurs of cardoon and myrtle.
